As part of the economic research team within the Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR), Alex specializes in original economic research and modeling to shape Schwab's views on growth, inflation, labor markets, and policy. The economic research team partners with Investment Research & Strategy to inform portfolio views and strategy.

Alex joined Schwab in 2020 in financial risk management. Before that, he was an economic research and modeler at Moody's Analytics and Opendoor. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Washington and a B.A. in Economics from UCLA.
